Bogota Power Company issued bonds for 650 billion Colombian pesos in the domestic market, oversubscribed by 1.3 billion pesos

Bogotá DC, February 6, 2017. The Bogotá Power Company today made its first bond issue in the domestic market for 650 billion Colombian pesos, oversubscribed by in 1.3 billion pesos. This is the largest bond issuance for the year. 

65% of monies obtained will be invested in the company's Investment Plan, mainly for the financing of the Mining and Energy Planning Unit (UPME  in Spanish) projects being developed by the company and the remaining 35% for debt restructuring. 

"The success of this bond issue is mainly due to the great solidity the company has in  the market, its profitability and its effort to maximize financial efficiency," said Astrid Álvarez, president of the energy group in Bogota. 

The bonds were offered in three Subseries with a term of 7, 15 and 25 years at an interest rate indexed to the consumer price index.
